What began as a small business operating out of a basement has grown over the past 25 years into a successful, thriving company with a team of over 80 experts and professionals. Going from 0 to 10 million dollars of yearly revenue in under 10 years, Info-Matrix Corporation was founded in 1996 by Joe Gondek, who has been in the technology industry since 1973.
Joe Gondek has always had a passion for technology as well as a natural skill for entrepreneurship. He established 3 other companies before Info-Matrix Corporation: Stasis Engineering, CR Laboratories, and HiTech Engineering. These companies worked on some fascinating projects, including a microprocessor so small that it fit inside of a key in the 80s; this technology was ahead of its time! HiTech Engineering, featured on early episodes of a TV show known as “60 Minutes”, produced a device that randomly generates numbers to be used for government-related studies. Moving onto Info-Matrix Corporation, Joe started the company out of necessity. Building his company upon a strong foundation of leadership, Joe truly embraced the motto of “My employees don’t work for me; I work for them”: he initially made sacrifices for his employees, going for a whole year without a paycheck in order to pay his employees and investing every dime he had in his company. Things started to look up quickly, and sacrifices turned into profit: every year for about 5 – 6 years, the company doubled in size and success. After the 3-year mark, Joe recognized that his business would continue to climb the ladder of success, and he gives all of the credit to his employees.
The projects at Info-Matrix started out small, and Joe quickly brought on a small team of core employees; some of the first people included Paul Schaeffer, Jeff Fisher, Penny Fisher, Devarajan Gopal, Ken White, Jim Collins, and Jude Bastiampallai. Many folks from this initial team continued to work for Info-Matrix for years, including Penny Fisher, who has been with us for 24 out of our 25 years! This team worked on impressive projects, including assisting the Texas Department of Health & Human Services with a Y2K overhaul. Before Info-Matrix took on the project, it was failing; however, our team of professionals quickly brought it to success! Another major project was developing the first website for the Department of Human Services. Info-Matrix continues to work on impressive projects that help the community, such as ACYS, which benefits many children and youth.
To this day, Info-Matrix Corporation continues to grow and gain traction. 10 years ago, Brenda Ritter became the President and CEO of the company and has taken the industry by storm. With more than 30 years of IT management experience, Brenda takes a hands-on approach to leadership, working with the team to ensure exceptional quality and delivery for our customers. Since she joined, Brenda has lead the company to be on Central Penn Business Journal’s list of Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies for 2 years in a row in 2019 and 2020, and she was also named among the Women2Watch by the Women Presidents’ Organization.
Within 25 years, Info-Matrix has grown an incredible amount and continues to accomplish great things. Since the beginning and with an impressive track record, Info-Matrix Corporation has maintained a focus on its customers and employees. Looking forward, we will always pride ourselves on our incredible team of professionals and long-term relationships with clients. THANK YOU for being part of who we are!
