Paul Jones and wife Julie recently donated the funding resources to provide a borehole well and hand pump to provide clean water to the people of Kirooya, Uganda. Over 1,900 people in the service area of the well are now blessed with a reliable source of clean water!

The villagers were collecting their water from stagnant swamps or walking further to shallow springs. Both sources were contaminated, causing frequent water borne illnesses. On top of the poor health caused by ingested water and the lack of water for hygiene and cleaning, families were spending exorbitant amounts of money on medical treatment. They couldn’t break the cycle to get ahead.

Now with the well and hand pump in place, clean water is flowing. The well has been functioning since late October 2024. The village has agreed to set aside a few pennies per month to help pay for future maintenance and repair of the well. The impact of the well has been transformative and immediate. With their improved health, the kids can focus on their education, the adults will have the time and energy to be more productive at work and for caring for their homes and families. Plus they won’t have to use their hard earned money on medical care. This resource will be instrumental in providing the means for the village to become a thriving community.

A huge THANK YOU to Paul and Julie for bringing the gift of clean water and hope for the future to the people of Kirooya!!
