Professional Women and Women Entrepreneurs (POWER)

Professional Women and Women Entrepreneurs (POWER) is the FIRST Pennsylvania state South Asian and American women non-profit organization started in 2018. POWER creates an environment and platform for all South Asian and American women to come together and provide information, guidance, and opportunities in order to help achieve each other’s goals and to create a world where women are empowered, supported, and celebrated in every sphere of life — personally, professionally, and socially.

Sudha Varkur is a Board Member and Chairperson of the Sports committee. Sudha has been involved in several POWER events including the annual International Women’s Day, YouBiz- Young Entrepreneurs meet to Encourage young kids, Adopt a Highway, Health & Dental camps, seminars on Women Health, and sporting events for women in the community.

The vision is to build strong communities by uplifting women through leadership opportunities, support systems for survivors of domestic violence, promotion of mental health and wellness, and inclusive platforms such as sports, entrepreneurship, education, and advocacy. By fostering strength, resilience, and independence in women, POWER aims to inspire positive social change and empower future generations to thrive.
